Not in my experience, if you ride in the rain you better have that sock with you....
you will spit and sputter till you bog down in a heavy rain.

From most of the people that I talked to on the XLForum they said that rain really don't effect it. The setup does come with a cover to put over it that will keep the rain out but most people don't use it because it steals a few hp.
As far the oil blow by that everyone is asking about. The way I see it is would you eat all the food off the floor that dropped while you were eating. I really don't want to use the carb to recycle crappy oil that is being spit out.

I think they look awsome. My draw back from not getting one was how well does it keep water out during rainy season? I ride all year long and needed something safe, to make sure water wasn't going into my engine.

brain...in reguards to the 2 hp.......i think they were saying that the diff. between the forcewinder and the SE is 2hp. Not that adding a new air filter only add's 2hp total. Im not sure how many a SE or a FW air filter would improve the overall numbers.
for example numbers only: say your bike is making 60hp with the fw filter added...with the SE air filter when dynoed your bike would be at 62hp. as for the orignal numbers that is what i am not sure of. Most people dyno tune after adding new air filter, some sort of download (or race tuner), and new pipes. So its hard to say how much overall came from the air filter set up itself..
