Good to know, thanks. I was looking at the wide glide kit on their site this morning. Hopefully that will work for you. Please do post the results.

Let me clarify a little. It actually will fit but there is not enough room for the rotor. So, if I didnt want front brakes Id be good to go.

You mean this about the mid glide, right?

I've been thinking about going to a 19" front myself. I love the look of the Thunder Star wheel but they aren't made for my year

Just picked up the wheel and tire today. The tire looks like it could last a few thousand miles before replacement. Overall it was in pretty good condition. I just washed it up with some brillo pads and it cleaned up well. I think I'll take it to the shop and have the bearings and the balance checked.

I can then switch out the wheels and see if I like the looks and feel. If I do, I can run it till the tire needs replacement, pull the wheel and put the laced wheel back on. I'll then have the cast wheel powdercoated.

Yes, with a mid glide a 16" rear wheel will fit but leaves no room for the rotor. I even took the wheel to a machinist to have the hub machined down in width to the oem width. But about a 1/4" behind the bearing the wheel is hollow so that didnt work. My wideglide vulcan kit came in yesterday so Ill be putting that on. Ill probably still have to get some spacers made because a 16" front wheel off a BT wideglide is not the same width as a 16" rear sporty wheel.
