Default Why is Sportster so heavy?

Hello.

I have riden a Yamaha virago 250 for a month as my entry bike and changed it to a sportser 883 last week. It ismuch heavier than the virage. It is the smallestHarley but it is still heavy for me. It is very hard to push by myself and I almost droppedit several times.I am still scared to rideit.

Iam 5'8" 130lb.Do I have to weight up andget more muscles to control it? Or do Ijust need to improve my riding skills?I saw a small and short woman riding a Dyna a couple of months ago. She was controlling the bike very well. I can't still understand it. Riding is still too hard for me.

Just because Metric bikes are made out of plastic, they are much lighter. Just kiddn'
You should compare a Yamaha 900 to a Sporty, not a Virago 250 I guess, of course Sporty is much heavier.

[&o][X(][&:][8D]yea,......I'd get a Bowflex,.....and then some Creatine Monohydrate.
Get on a Riptide workout regiment,......try to take in 4000+ calories a day(according to your weight)

hopefully by next spring,.....you'll be able to ride it.

Good luck!

OMFG! When you are riding a bike, you are not doing weight lifting man. It takes some time to adjust from a 250 to a 883, you will be ok after a while. Take it easy, you don't have to be an iron man to ride a sporty.

Dont getdiscouraged. The more that you ride the stronger your riding skills will get.... the easier it will be. And if you haven't done it yet, take the MSC.

honestly after awhile your sporty is going to feel like a dirt bike, it is just a matter of building your skills, and getting comfortable on it.
