Big problems occur when the connections/screws come loose, start arcing (like when starting, and deposit carbon on the battery terminal and the contacts of the wires hooked up to the battery. That causes an insulator effect and have to be filed or ground off to make good contact again. Corrosion is another problem but have not really heard about a problem with that too much with gel cell batteries like most motorcycle batteries are.

All 15 amp fuses in box are o.k. positive battery cable burnt in two locations and broken wires.Im sure this is not the problem but replacing it.Checking out the 12v 30 amp in box to see if its any good.

Is there a fuse under gas tank or anywhere else.Besides the 15 and 30 amp fuses by the battery? Thanks Ron

All the fuses are in the battery area.

I would bet money that it is a loose neg term connection either at the battery or at the other end of the cable on the engine block.

I should be able to get back to the bike,after two cars broke down!!!!Bought a new battery cable two places was burnt through and a new 12v30amp thats in the panel that holds the fuses.If its not any of these maybe i'll put in a new ignition.

I believe the ignition switch is bad also!
Can anyone help me on the switch? Do you have to remove Tankk bolt?
