Vance & Hines...Quite Baffles?
I'm looking for some help from someone with more experience than me. I purchased a set of used V&H HS slip on mufflersand installed them over the weekend. Tehy went on a 2006 XL custom 1200 with stock A/c and standard jet carb (those will be upgraded before spring). changing the pipes was arelatively simple process if it wasn't 20 degrees outside.
Any how the bike sounds great, but is alittle louder and harsher sounding than other sportsters I have heard with the same pipes. There is a baffle in the pipes, but I do not know which one. The seller did not remember which baffel hehad. Is there an easy wasy totell which of the baffles I have? The baffle was already installed and I have not taken it out to look at it. Are they stamped or marked in someway?
Any help you can provide is appreciated.
By the way the test ride afterwards was fun, but freeeeezzzing cold!

Standard baffles have louvers in them and are straight through... If you shine a light you will see straight through.
Quiets are a diamond mesh, wrapped in fiberglass and have what looks to be a freezeplug welded in the front (engine side). Should be able to see it with a light.
