So recently i saw a pic of a sportster with a 2in1 exhaust that i fell in love with, the problem is i cant find the type it is nor remember where i saw the pic(horrible memory) so.... does anyone know of a 2into1 exhaust that is real short and dumps right around the area mid controls are or similar.. any help is appreciated as ive been searching all day at work

The sik pipes one is it.. I just don't like the long look of most 2into1 pipes. . So now I am curious, woild this short of a 2to1 exhaust still give the same power gains? Im not too concerned with power but just wondering

 

No, I very much doubt it. The length of the pipes at the point they join together is critical to getting optimum performance, followed by a muffler to reduce noise, but also fine tune performance.

Most 2-into-1s, like my SuperTrapp below, are a compromise, because on a Harley is it difficult to get in equal length front and rear pipes, but most brands for dressers join around the swingarm pivot. Same applies to Sporties, although the shorter pipes relate to the higher revving Sporty engine. The strange looking system used on Buells gives equal length pipes, which in turn enables the engine to be much more radically tuned than a Sporty and give around 100HP.

A good 2-into-1 will give better low/mid range torque, where most of us ride. The system on my Glide gave me 15% more, which is well worth having! It also rides much smoother and sweeter.
