I didn't say the engine would become unreliable. I said it would become less reliable. When you increase revs, add cam and compression, even with porting relief, you will effect the reliability. To what degree depends on how much the user thrashes the motor. The simple fact that someone works their Sporty to have 100+ ponies will increase the likelihood the engine will live at the upper end of the rev spectrum more so than the average standard conversion will.

The Sportster still uses pushrods. It's not water cooled with overhead cams that's happy to live at the upper revs. It's just simple architecture.

Again, I didn't say the Sportster would instantly become unreliable. But remember the adage:

*Fast
*Cheap
*Reliable
