Default Forty-Eight Power Commander installation / wiring help

Purchased a 2010 XL1200X on Craigslist. The previous owner did all the Stage 1 installs including a pciii. He was unable to find a good way to route the cables in a clean way. He wound up with the pciii hardware flat up against the wall behind the battery and the in-line 32 pin connector stuck sideways between the battery and fusebox. This pushed a lot of wiring harnesses and the fusebox far enough forward that the side cover panel was unable to be completely closed and had to be zip-tied. I've attached a photo minus the battery so you can see where the pciii was placed.

I'd like to reroute the wiring in such a way that the panel can be closed and the pciii is accessible for a USB cable, but haven't been able to find any pictures on the forum or elsewhere on how this is done on a 48. Is it possible with the length of cables provided to swap the harnesses and pciii?

This is not a problem specific to a pciii, the pcv looks to have the same type of connection setup.

Any recommendations would be appreciated!
