Default Who knows about wheels/tires?

Looking to switch to a get rid of my mags and saw these:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/multi...ke-wheels.html

I know I'd need to change the bearing, but other than that should they mount on a 2009 883L? Also, I want to put some Metzler Me880's on them, is there a guide/general rule for tire size?

If I had to guess, I'd need a 100/90/19 for the front, and a 150/80/17 for the rear. Can I go any bigger on either without changing anything else?

Last I checked, Metezler doesn't make a 150/80-17, they have a 160/70-17. It's about a 1/2" taller than the stock 150 Dunflop, so fender clearance may/may not be an issue. This tire also calls for a 3.75" - 5.0" rim width.

Thanks for the info! Fender clearance isn't a big issue for me as I'll just remount the rear.

Gotta find details on these rims, though.

Those wheel's do look great. I like them to and they will look cool on your scooter.

Yep, the 100/90-19 and 160/70-17 will do. Now to have a look at the bank account and make a decision.

160/70 is the same size as a Deuce, which I think was the first Harley with that size wheel, a 4.5" rim. I have just squeezed one into my Glide, with an Avon tyre on it, which is actually 167mm wide. I look forward to hearing if one will go into a Sporty! This is it beside a stock MT Dunlop:

There shouldn't be any problem mounting this tire.
The Metz 160/70-17 has a published width of 6.18" and a diameter of 25.74" which is slightly narrower and shorter than the popular Metz 160/80-16 which is listed as 6.37" wide and 26.02" tall, and has often been mounted without modifications to 04 and later Sporties.

Now...here's something I completely overlooked. What sized tubes do I need for these tires?

216-037 METZELER 100/90-19 ME880 FRONT TIRE
216-137 METZELER 160/70B-17 ME880 REAR TIRE

Found some on Bike Bandit made by Metzeler. They're about $25 each (about $88 after shipping/taxes). What are the chances I'll find some for cheaper?
