Default Cheap alternative to HD funnels

Not sure if this is an old idea or if there are better ones out there, but I did find a pretty good alternative to purchasing the custom funnel for your oil filter and also the funnel for refilling your transmission fluid.

First of all go grab a snack. Pringles to be exact. Now with the empty can cut it longways to where you should have one piece at about 2/3 of the can.

Now pull off the piece of metal at the bottom and stuff it in under your oil filter. There will be a rib on the engine that will keep you from putting it in all the way so simply look where its hitting and cut a notch. Don't cut it to deep or oil will find its way through there and down where you dont want it.

The pictures kinda tell ya the rest of the story.

Okay now to that smaller piece of your snack can. Same basic concept pretty simple just trim to fit. Just make sure to trim the mouth of the can this time because the lip comes in handy. I just left the metal on this piece for support.

It will take two hands to fill the transmission. so you'll have to set down your beer.

Well I hope this can useful to someone.

Great idea & probably works good on a Sportster, but touring bikes have alot more in the way so a rigid tube's not going to cut it.

Great stuff! I have an old Evo Glide with oil bag and have been using the cardboard tube out of a kitchen tissues roll for guiding the oil and drain plug into a can.
