front turn signal elimination

ok...
Find the wires that lead up to the signal, follow them BACK to the main harness underneath the tank, you will will have to remove some tie straps to open up the plastic sheath there are incased in, continue to trace it back to the plug, using you fingers open the tabs slightly to unlock said plug, with a pulling motion plug will unseat and your signal is now disconnected. Repeat these steps for the other turn signal....there are setscrews on the signal that tighten against the stalk, back it off and signal will come off of stalk, then remove stalk....

I remove the front turn signals on my 2011 nightster during the summer months and put them back on during the dark raining winter months. I just unplugge the front turn signals from the wire harness and added some black electrical tape to cover the open plug from the road grime. No issues.

Removing any turn signals on your bike may make it (and maybe you) look "kewl", but, it is a stupid thing to do in my opinion for at least a couple of reasons.
1. If someone doesn't see the motorcycle in the first place they sure aren't going to see you giving a "hand signal" (but might have a better chance seeing a bright flashing amber light).
2. If your state requires them (and NY and CA do, as do most other states) then it just gives the LEOs a justifiable reason to pull you over if they want to but did not have a good excuse before. Then then can more closely scrutinize your bike, and you, further to see what other damage they can do.
I do what I can to make my bike look "kewl" but not at the expense of making it unsafe for me when it comes to ways of making sure the other drivers have a better chance of knowing I'm there.
