Installing cycle shack slip ons
I'm going to install some cycle shack slip ons and am wondering is there anything extra needed for installing them?
Also is their a tutorial video anywhere on how to install them?
I've read I need new crossover gaskets to install the slip ons.
I have no local HD shop. Is there anywhere else that I can purchase them from?

I would recommend new gaskets, yes.I have only installed a few sets of Screaming Eagle mufflers and one set of Straight Shots, but find the hardest task is getting the stock mufflers to slide off the head pipes.Use WD 40 and twist the mufflers while pulling to remove from the head pipes.Wish I could be of more help.

I installed slip-ons to replace the stock mufflers on my '06 last year, and then installed full Cycle Shack pipes this year. Like Brion said above, those stock mufflers might be hard to remove, WD40 worked for me too, I used the "straw" that came with the can and soaked it into the joint and let it sit for 15 minutes or so, it still took some effort to twist 'em off. PB Blaster might work better, but I didn't have any at the time.
You are better off taking the time to remove your heat shields and loosen your header pipes at the engine to give yourself some wiggle room. The rear pipe also has a clamp. A second set of hands is nice to hold the header pipes as you work the muffler off. You will want a torque wrench to tighten the head pipes back when you are done, and it's in in/lbs.
If you are getting new Cycle Shacks they will have instructions that are pretty easy to follow, at least they are on the full muffler pipes that I have.
Some instructions will say you need to discard the clamps that connect the slip-ons to the head pipe, I was able to reuse mine. I would go ahead and get the interconnect gaskets, they get pretty wrecked when you install them, but they are made to crush when installed. If you have a local shop that can order out of the Drag Specialties catalog, part number is 09242559 (double check this), otherwise it is HD part number 65927-00.

When installing the new crossover pipe gaskets make sure you install them in the crossover pipe and ~NOT~ the mufflers, and exercise care when positioning the mufflers.
Keeping an eye on the 2 bottom mounting points on each muffler and the associated threaded holes in the crossover pipe that the mufflers bolt onto, slip each muffler on its headpipe with the tubes that slip over the crossover pipe outlets facing upward of these outlets at a 45 degree angle. Once the bottom holes line up, pull the muffler out very slightly towards you [it and the headpipe will move easier than you think so go s-l-o-w] and carefully rotate the muffler towards the motor just enough soas to align the outlet in the muffler with the corresponding tube/gasket in the crossover pipe, and slowly push the muffler over the gasket/crossover tube outlet. XYZ alignment is critical and it is real easy to screw up the gasket so be careful. When the muffler is in position correctly you should barely if at all see any of the gasket material when the muffler is home. Install the bottom bolts and slide down your muffler clamps from the head pipe[s] making sure everything is aligned, position correctly [face the bolts the way you like, up/down and equaldistant in from each muffler], then tighten. Tighten the secondary rear muffler clamp mount. After checking all fasteners for correct tightness, spray down and wipe clean your pipes with Windex to remove any oil residue, then install your shields.
Dun!! Crank up yer beast and enjoy your new tune!!

Grab some Permatex copper RTV for the cross over gaskets. It will prevent any future leaks

When tightening everything down, start at the clamp at the exhaust port and work back to the rear bracket, alternating between pipes as you go, but save the muffler-to-headpipe clamp for last, after all the other stuff is tight.
Don't install anything in tension, such as drawing a misaligned muffler tight to a bracket with the bolts. Wiggle things until they line up right as close as you can, then use spacers to fill any gaps, bUt there shouldn't be much of that required.
You're gonna love those pipes; I put a set on my 72 and they sound great and work well.
