? For Mr. Dallastx
Hello Dallastx
? on your ride
you removed the baffles
I have a 06 that i did same thing to but, there was a cat converterup in the front pipe
was there one in yours?
or did you only knock hole in pipe?
the reason on this is to trully have baffles out
you must remove the pipe in there, about 11' long with alot of holes in it
on mine i left the packing and screen to hold packing to muffler
just wondering if yours came thru with cat converters on the 07

RE: ? For Mr. Dallastx
Don't have a cat, but do have 02's. We took a drill bit that is simular to a bit you would drill a hole in a door for a lock. I think it was 1-3/4's. We drilled with a bit the same diameter of the tail pipe. The baffle is welded with a circular weld at the tail of the pipe. Once the weld is broken by the bit, we just pulled the baffles out with a pair of pliers. I hope this helps. BTW, the baffle is about 2 feet long.

RE: ? For Mr. Dallastx
I rode for several months with the baffles removed on my 07. The sound is louder, the bike ran cooler. I used the "7/8" pipe" run through the muffers" method, and was pleased with the results. I eventually replaced the de-baffled mufflers with Vance & Hines straighshots. You should have no problem doing this, or you can go to ebay and generally find someone selling a used set of mufflers (2004-2007 will work), allowing you to keep the OEMs.
