nhra drag racing classes
Hi I'm a long time dragger not so long on bikes but I'd love to combine them. Surprise there's an announcement in the national dragster that HD is supporting a new series, great news.
The problem is I can't find rules on Harley's site and NHRA says to check there. I only want to know if there is a bracket style class or is it all fuel, prostock ect.?
Thanks Steve

would be nice to see harley support something besides pro-stock motorcycle...maybe a nitro harley class or a junior dragster type program.
it is going to be interesting to see how the v-rods do with the rule changes. the v-rods are not going to have much of an advantage on horsepower this year--lucas oil sponsored buells of the aranas will be 3 bikes this year. matt smith and michael ray look to be competitive next year also. andrew and eddie better work on their reaction times over the winter!

the n.h.r.a. only needs top fuel, fuel funny car, pro stock car, and pro stock motorcycle. any other class or type of racing is just filler between the rounds of the pro categories.
watch how fast the stands empty between rounds of pro racing...and people are in no hurry to get back in their seats until the next round of pro qualifying/eliminations.
i have never heard any one say "we better get back in our seats-the amateurs are getting ready to run".

Still a secret as to what the class rules will be, but they had better step it up:

I realize NHRA doesn't give a ---- about sportsman racers, but being a 30 year member of the association I've never had a vote on any policies or decisions. I don't think they survive without 200 sc,200sg 150 ss 200 stockers all paying $250 entry for the $1500 purse(and the glory/trophy), now You've got Me all wound up. Anyway it looks like there is no class for street bikes at these events ,that's all I was wondering.
