Default New Cables

So I am buying a BYO brake line from magnum shielding and I'm just looking on opinions on throttle/idle and clutch cable. Magnum make BYO kits for those also but I'm leaning more towards getting those from barnetts because it seems like they would be better quality. Am I right here or not. BTW all the cables are going to be shorter than stock if that matters.

I don't think you can go wrong either way. And just so you know, those BYO brake lines have been on backorder for god knows how long.

Got my magnum cables & brake line last week. I got the black pearl set & they are real nice. I got the swivel brake line & it took about a week for me to recieve everything. Haven't installed cables yet cause I'm still soldering the wires for my ape install.

Well if there's nothing wrong with the magnum cables I will probably go with those, the barnett cables seem a little confusing to order the right size. Ill go with the ones that I can cut to the size I need.

I'm not sure why you wanna cut them after paying good money. Magnum can make a wide variety of lengths. I know they offer shorter than stock lines too. I deff wouldn't try cutting my own brake lines shorter & then having to hope my crimp doesn't blow under pressure.

+1
The Black Pearl clutch and brake lines from Magnum are very good quality and come in just about any length. Measure what you need and order it. Mine arrived spot on perfect. A lot simpler than trying to cut it yourself.

That would probly be easier, but just to clarify I was looking at their Build your own lines. You cut them to length and assemble them.

I think the point some are making is that cables/brake lines "professionally" built stand a better chance of not "coming undone". I know from other areas of involvement that the "cut-your-own-to-size-kits" are all well and good but that the end attachments/crimps, etc that YOU have to make/assemble aren't as trustworthy. Personally, I have always used Barnett and never had a problem with a hydraulic blow out - they are a quality product. BUT, I'm sure BYO lines can be made just as well if you're good at it...

I went Barnett with my throttle/idle cables when I went to 16" apes with 2" risers. Their stealth models. I love em. I measured and they they came the perfect length. They are smooth operating, a reasonable price and they look great. The clutch cable I got from a friend who owns a repair shop for $5.00. The brake cable I got from a bud who removed his front brake. Free !!! Couldn't beat the price on either.
