Changing handlebars and got questions

Talking Changing handlebars and got questions

I am changing my handlebars from the stock buckhorns and changing it 2 12in apes i talked my parts/bike guy and he told me and 8" for an extension for my wires but dont esns order something i dont need but also rather have little extra wire 2 tuck away somewhere then trying stretch them . Has anyone done this and give any advice this is my first time changing my bars.

The buckhorns are usually tall already, and you can get away with 10" or 12" apes without having to extend the wires. I could fit 10" apes without new wires on my bike, and it only has 4" rise bars stock.

Yes i agree with Scuba,my 1997 had buckhorns and i put 10" apes on with 4' risers,but my wires are to what i would call the safe limit.
