2013 Forty-Eight 1000 mile service $400.00 at the dealer extra $'s if you add synthetic oil, it is mandatory to have the First service done by an authorized HD dealer/shop in order to keep the warranty valid. WTF, I hope the service includes a table dance or two, what do they do on the First service other than change the fluids, inspect the wear and do a couple adjustments, I mean for $400.00 there must be something else happening that I'm totally oblivious too!!
My 15000mi. Service on ultra classic with syn. Oil was 269.00
I paid about 320 for mine. It is not a very great thing to throw that kind of money at a bike a couple of weeks after you purchase it. There is a range of costs for the 1K service and multiple threads that address this. Depends on where you live. 250-350 seems the norm.

Holy cow. I just purchased some Amsoil, cost me $42 per gallon, and there is no better oil in the US (although some are comparable). A little math ... Ultra Classic needs 6.4 gallons of oil?!!

Check what the book time is and what the labor rate is. Then you can compare with others without saying "$400". If my labor rate is lower, obviously it will cost less. There should be a set time for that job throughout. If book time is 4 hrs and the labor rate is $85/hr, you know that the labor came to $340.
As Bill Clinton would say, "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is'." Sorry couldn't resist. Seriously, you have to see the exact words and not just your impression of what he said. If by saying that your warranty is void, he means HD will not warranty the bike if your mechanic screws up, he is right. You cannot ask HD to warranty something they didn't fix. So if your ECM dies out after you get the oil change somewhere else, they can't say it is related. OTOH, I think if you do your own oil change and you use the wrong oil, it could be an issue and they might not warranty it.
I think they are supposed to go thru all the fasteners on the list. When the cat is away, the mice will play.
