The Biltwell HB seat doesn't really flex, it sits on the frame rails on the raised plastic blocks which you can see on the pics above, they are angled raised areas.

The only thing I did to mine was pulled the rubber sleeve off the metal piece that slips under the gas tank yoke & bent the metal up about 3/8" because it was loose, not really loose but zero tension on it and I made it so it fits snug but doesn't have a bunch of tension. Then put the rubber sleeve back on. It is much better like this.

Here's my current pic, chopped a fender down, lowered the fender & trimmed off the fender struts.

Did you remove that anchor bolt near the battery used for the stock seat? I had to remove it for the seat I had made cuz I could feel it in my *** through the seat pan.

No, didn't have to remove that bolt. Plenty of clearance under it.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I'm going to get one as well.

There sure is a lack of cool seats for the rubbermounts - especially the 04 to 06's. I'm glad to see this one.

Yeapp... Mine's on the way from LowBrow as we speak. I went with the diamond stitch pattern, it'll be my spare seat for 2-up riding and will match my current diamond stitch roughcraft solo seat.

I was talking to the folks at Biltwell the other day and there in the process of trial fitting their new SOLO version of the seat for the rubbermount sportsters.

And in regards to your comment about the 04-06's, anything from 04-12 will bolt up. The only difference is the 07-09 had the ECM on the fender and those require the relocation of that for certain seats. But their still isnt a huge assortment out there...

I'm reviving this in the hopes that some guys have been out these winter months to give an update on comfort. I'm not expecting mustang wide comfort but better how much better than stock are we talking?

I have put about 500 miles on mine and it is much more comfortable. There is definitely more padding than a stock nightster or 48 seat.

Looks like that's my seat then, one last question, my fender is chopped to about where yours is and I just wanted to confirm that you have it attached at the stock seat hole location.
