Problem with the brakelight conversion kit

RE: Problem with the brakelight conversion kit
Well the bulbs aren't the problem - and there really wasn't a problem with the kit. I misunderstood the function. I was under the assumption that the turn signal lights would light up with the tail light to function as running lights, as well as an additional set of brake lights and the normal turn signal function. I was wrong!!!

Yeah ... thats the module that I installed on my 06. Basically turns the signals into running lights. On mine, all three lights light up, when signalling, the signals stay on and blink with more intensitiy. Frankly dont remember if the signals now light up when I hit the brakes. The bike is in the shop getting the new gas tank installed but I will double check for you when I get it back tomorrow. I could never find the other part number. When I bought mine, there were two part numbers for the same device. At any rate, if your lights arent working as described above, I'd pitch a b1tch.

RE: Problem with the brakelight conversion kit
According to the description on the HD website the 68286-04 kit will "Make other riders see red. The module plugs into your existing wiring harness and adds an auxiliary brake light function to your rear turn signals." To me this means the lights work as brake and turn signals, not as running lights. Am I wrong about this?? According the the HD site, the kit # 49462-06A will "Make other riders see red. This turn signal module adds an auxiliary brake light and running light function to your rear turn signals for auxiliary rear lighting. Red lenses glow when the headlamp is on, and increase in intesity when brakes or turn signals are activated. Easy-to-install the kit simply plugs into your existing wire harness. Red turn signal lenses are included. Meets DOT requirements." Unfortunately it isn't designed for the 2005 Sportster --"Fits '02-'03 XL, '02-later Dyna™ (except FXDXT), and '02-later Softail® (except FXSTD/I) models with stock bullet-style turn signals. (NOTE: Does not meet DOT standards when installed on '04-later FLHRS, FLTR, FLHTCSE models, '05-later FLSTN and FLSTS models, or models equipped with Bullet Rear Turn Signal Bar Kit P/N 68615-04 or 68617-04.)" Am I right in assuming this kit won't work on a post-'03 bike as stated in the HD description?

Correct part number for 05-06 run turn and brake is 69463-06, this is what I installed on my 05. The other is run brake ONLY
