You will love not having to fuel up so often. I have 4.5 and my fiancé has a 3.3. He's looking for a gas station at the 100 mile mark!

I bet thats at least a 500 dollar paint job too. Still a fan of the peanut tank and in my opinion it is what makes a sporty look like a sporty. The 4.5 tank reminds my of other bike and harley models, when ya see a peanut tank you just think sporty.
Here's the same bike in a different configuration...

When I see my friend's '49 Panhead springer chopper with a peanut tank,
I don't think Sporty.
It's always about the motor.

You will need a seat from a Nightster/Iron/Forty-eight.
I don't regret changing mine (883R) 7 yrs ago.
I can easily ride 200+ miles before refueling.
Cojones!!! 200 plus miles!!!

You've probably figured this out by now, but here you go.
Any 4.5 glln tank from '07 and up will fit (fuel injection began in '07). You can trim the front of your factory seat to accommodate the longer 4.5, or get a different seat from/for a 2007-2009 that's made for a 4.5 (the ECM is in a different location for other model years and is a hindrance for seat fitment). You won't have any issues with tank clearance unless you have really short drag bars and bottom mount mirrors. Check any used or after market tank for inside rust. Have the inside of the tank cleaned/coated before painting.

You seem surprised? Your 2008 883c probably can't.
I changed to taller primary gearing & I don't have fuel pump in tank.

I've never been passed 140 miles on 1 tank. There is still some gas left at 140 but not much. My light comes on at about 95 miles and drives me crazy.
