Also, ask nrhs about their competition valve job for 883's. It seems to work very well with a set of .536 cams and produce more power. I wouldn't do it unless you plan to put in .536 cams though. With .536's you won't have to swap them out for another set when you do stage 2 port work as they seem to work well both with stock and ported heads.

Stock XL883 heads with NRHS Competition Valve Job & Chamber Relief work
NRHS/Axtell 1250 kit
Stock header with SE Slip-ons
SE .536 Cams
SE Air Cleaner
Stock carburetor
Stock Ignition
SOLD! me likey me likey, me wanty me wanty [sm=drooldude.gif]

NRHS might still have my stock 06 883 heads there. Ask if you can have them for a core charge.

DamnI started to call them today and ask them if they would do a core exchange butI figured they probably wouldn't do that. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Think long and hard Bro. If you are a HP junkie, you will only lust for more if you do the simplest Upgrade. However you may be more than satisfied with a little less, especially when you consider you are going way up in hp and torque doing this. The Basic 1200/1250 upgradewill be very noticable,, Very.

Yea I think the 1250 kit would probably be fine by itself but while it's apartI might as well add a few little extras to bump it up a little over a stock 1200 performance. With that I know I should be satisfied. If the pricesI am seeing some others quote are correct then instead of the $750 for the 1250 kit, if I get the SE.536 cam and NRHS Competition Valve Job & Chamber Relief work done on the heads then it will be $1300 which is not a whole lot more actually.

yup those prices are correct. you should probably spend the extra $75 to have the set the pistons also. everyone says that it is well worth the money being that the rings are a pain.

I went from 21 to 23 teeth in front and from 28 to 26 teeth in back on my chain drive883 now 1200 to get 1200 gearing. You can figure the ratio change required on a belt drive from this info. I shift to 5th at about 60-65 mph now. It will no doubt top my 883 limit of 110 mph, yet I will never test this out.
