Default 2013 sportster 72 exhaust

i am looking to start the customization process on my new bike. the first thing that has to change are the pipes. the factory pipes are not nearly loud enough.i really like the V&H side shots. But for cost and trying to do this before Sturgis i am going to go with the short shots. I am just wondering if anyone can tell me if i just buy the pipes if i can just put them on(i have a mechanic that is actually going to put them on). I am being told two different things. the Harley shop says i can. but the custom shop is telling me i will need to modify something stage two and possibly something else. i have a feeling the dealer is telling me its fine because then i will have to go back for the upgrades once i am committed. Please point me in the right direction.

Nice bike, and the pics are pretty good but they'd look a whole lot more betterer without the silly borders and Ivan...what's he doin' in all the pics anyway?
