Reverse Dome pistons

RE: Reverse Dome pistons
Really depends on the type of reverse dome piston you have, as they come in different 'flavors' (with dome volume's running from 6.8cc up to around 13.7cc).
You need to make sure your final compression ratio isn't so high that you have to worry about problems.
I'll have to pull out some notes I have buried somewhere, but a guy I know is running reverse dome pistons in his 1200. I believe he is running reverse dome pistons with a 6.8cc dome volume, and his compression ratio is right at 10:5.1.

I'm running Wiseco 10:1 reverse dome pistons now but would like the 1200 heads for better breathing in and out. BTW, thanks for the reply

I'll try to get in touch with a guy I know that builds a lot of 1200 engines and see what he has to say...

RE: Reverse Dome pistons
I have the Wesco reverse dome 9:1 pistons in mine, with SE 1200 cylinders and 883 heads. Did not want higher compression to avoid tendancy for pre-ignition with sub-grade gasoline.
Plenty of power and torque. I don't need a drag demon, after all.
Oh yea. Changed the sprockets to give me 1200 gearing overall. That was a really good move I believe.
