Default Mustang vintage vs. Sundowner

I know any touring seat will kill my looks, but I can change back and forth with my springer as the situation calls for it. Just need my butt to last more than 100 miles and my ole lady's to last more than sixty. Any suggestions, reviews of each, and opinions would be awesome! Thanks!!!

[QUOTE=jasonryen;10521765]I know any touring seat will kill my looks.

No, it's your FACE that's killing your looks! Ha Ha! (Sorry, I just couldn't resist)
I had a Sundowner for my Sportster, and it was very comfortable. I'm a short stack (5'6") so I was worried about the Mustang raising me up. You only hear good stuff about Mustangs though... I'd probably try the stang if I was taller.

I had the Sundowner on my current bike that I traded with someone for the Mustang Wide Touring seat. I've had Mustang seats on my other Sportys. All I can say is the Mustangs are the most comfortable seat I've sat on for a Sportster. The Sundowner was ok, but the Mustang is much better. IMHO.

As for looks, your *** doesn't care what the seat looks like. But your *** will thank you time after time.

Thanks baka... My *** definately doesn't thank me now. Even with the fuel breaks, after a while it just doesn't matter, and especially if the ole lady is with me.

Hey clayvis, you're probably right, but a seat is much cheaper than plastic surgery! lol

I'm still not crazy about the braided skirt on the Mustang vintage solo or the looks of it in general, but man I love that seat.
It's so comfortable that I haven't put my Le Pera Bare Bones back on. Not even for short trips around the city.

My plan was to alternate between seats. Le Pera for looks and short city rides, and the Mustang for longer trips or two up riding. I'm starting to think about selling my nice leather Le Pera since I cant imagine when I'll use it again.

The Mustang is VERY comfortable...

I cant speak for the Mustang. I have a Sundowner and love it. Im about your height at 5'7". I weigh 195. i love the Sundowner. I recently did a 375 mile day and it didnt let me down. 100 miles on it is a piece of cake. The rear section is good sized. and Ive only had my 110 lb daughter back there but she said it was very comfortable.

Never tried the Sundowner because I don't like its looks, but I did go with the Mustang Vintage Solo - and love it! I very rarely ride two up, but when I do I just throw on the stock seat and that works fine for the limited two-up rides I make.
