That Ness AC should be just like the VO2, not sure why that one won't fit older than '04 but I wouldn't chance it. The filter should come pre-oiled and ready to go, when you need to clean it, you can get a K&N kit for $12 that has enough cleaner and oil to recharge it a couple of times.

DK Customs has a good intake system too, it will cost a little more, but isn't outrageous, and their quality is probably a little better versus the Ness.

In all reality most aftermarket air cleaners and the HD Screaming Eagle one will perform about the same when you do a full properly tuned Stage 1. A normally aspired Sporty engine can only intake a certain amount of air no matter how well the manufacturers claim their filters can flow.

Pick the air cleaner that you like best. If using the K&N filter, just clean it at it's recommended intervals along with changing your oil at it's maintenance schedule and your Sporty will last a long time.

Can you guys give me your opinions on which filters and air cleaner setups you like. Thanks
SE with a K&N is what I use.

Yeah, chances are you will. You'll also get a nice boost in performance when you do.

It's not too bad of a job to change the jet or jets, if you already have the air cleaner off, it's a lot easier to get to, you can just remove the bowl without removing the carb from the engine. Jets go in from the bottom with a flat head screwdriver.

When you are ready, start a new post and someone can probably give you a good starting point as far as jet sizes, you don't need a kit, you can buy individual jets, I just needed one.

Do you have a service manual?

I do not have a service manual and my next questions is what jet kit should I run and what sizes? Am I just replacing the jets or am i replacing the slide and spring or what?

I just got a 45 jet, stock was 42 on my '06. The other jet was a 180 and I left that one as is. Not saying yours will be the same, but I was fine with just the one jet, and that was almost a year, and 6000 miles ago.
