Here is mine in its current set up. Took this photo while camping over the summer.
For those of you who talked about removing that center strip on the tank earlier, it is pretty easy. Get the strip hot and run fishing line under it pulling away from the tank. I then used some 3M adhesive remover followed by a coat of wax.

thx imold- this is the 3rd and last seat that this bike will see. the butt time on that passenger seat is very close to a tank of gas- the other seats i had provided about an hour, at most, for the +2. the seat in front is also a nice seat. my butt can get sore but it also pretty much makes a tank of gas before i am ready to stretch and walk around.

I tried dental floss first, but it kept on breaking. With the fishing line pulled away from the tank it kept the paint safe from any scratches, but did leave the two strips of adhesive tape on the tank. I went to a local auto store to get the 3M remover that was safe for vehicle paint. I think it makes the tank look a lot better without the trim!
