im really loving these bars, they only come in 12 and 16

it says the bars taper to 1'' so that 1'' controls can fit so these will work on a nightster correct?

pic of the bars on a nightster , i dont know if he used the 1.25 bars or the 1'' bars, but the 1'' bars dont have knurls hence why i want to use the 1.25 bars


i really wish they had 14 inch bars but they only come in 12 and 16, thinking of going 16 but dont know if it just looks wayyy to big on a sportster

 

they look ok. should work. just call the company.

 

You can always get them knurled at a local machine shop for not to much.

 

Or you can wrap a piece of sandpaper or a cut up soda can around them before you clamp them down. Works very well on smooth bars.

I have those bars on my bike and really like them (I got the 12 inch). I wanted the tapered 1.25" version too but wasn't 100% sure I could make them work so I went with the 1". Not being knurled has caused me some problems.. they've slipped a few times, each time i ride home and tighten them further. I don't know yet whether there's a spot that they won't slip or if I'll keep tightening until I break something.

 

Those bars are nice! Thats next on my list after the first of the year is a new set of bar's, I believe Im going with a set of 12's. I was wondering the same about the 1 1/4" fitment, I like the look of the bigger bars myself. .

 

Did you try the sandpaper or soda can yet sam?

 

A member on the xl forum uses 1.25 and it works great
