There is a forum for evo hatrers who own ironhead harleys.
I would advise you to stay far away from any ironhead if you plan on riding and enjoying a Harley.
The Evolution Harley engines are far superior in every way to the unreliable old technology ironhead and shovelhead engines of the past.
What is it that you like so much about the ironhead?

I have a '77 XLCH that I am currently making road worthy again. My wife picked it up for me two years ago as a gift and it is totally complete, although it has some mods like ape hangers, external oil filter (they originally had NO oil filter), and a seat mod. The tins are in need of a paint job and I'm in the process of checking out the electrical. The bike runs and the engine seems strong with no smoke, and there are no oil leaks. Odometer says 30K but it is a replacement, so no idea on exactly how many miles are on the bike. My wife won't tell me what she paid, but I have run across others from $1200 (basket cases with everything there) to $1,900 in running road-worthy condition. Hope that helps...
