RE: Help on fixing a chip
Chips are difficult to fix well but it can be done with some patience and a few steps especialy on a solid color like black.
Get some touch up paint and fill with a few layers letting each dry thorougly then wet-sand with varying grits upto probably 1200 to level and blend with surrounding area (this will of course dull the paint around the chip) then polish with compound (not a real abrasive one) then maybe use some Mequirs scratch-x which is a verly mild polish and then after the chip area is thorougly cured (wait a couple weeks) wax the whole thing. Lot of work I know but cheaper than repainting unless you plan to get some custom paint anyway.
Good luck.

RE: Help on fixing a chip
Had a guy who works in a body shop give me a good tip. Use a wooden tooth pick and just put the touch up paint in the chip. Do not get any paint on the "still painted" portion of the bike. (just in the chip, coming to the edge of the good paint but not on the good paint). I did that on a car I owned and it wasvery easyto lightly buff out.

ahhh something I have dealt with all day. I was putting my seat back on after giving a good detailing this morning. When I was screwing in the seat bolt the screwdriver slipped and put a couple knicks in the paint. After I was done cursing I did the toothpick trick. Worked great but I still had a bit of touch up paint on the "good paint". I took a clay bar to get off the excess and it worked like a charm. Still mad about it, but not as mad as this morning
