Default Pillion seat

I am just bidding on some rear foot pegs and mounts for my 48, so the next thing I need is a bitch seat, I am going to get one with the suction cups on the bottom so I can put the seat on and off with ease.....(I have a solo seat so it makes sence)

so my question is......will the rear fender be strong enough to hold a passenger or do I have to strenghten it?...for one of these pillion pad style seats.

Yup, agree the bike is built for two up. But point to note is that the suction cup mounts are not very comfortable to the person sitting on them. If you want your passenger to ride with you again after the first time then get a real seat for 2up. I went with a Sundowner and use it only when two up, then use the stock 48 seat when alone.

Cool...I see what your saying about a sundowner seat, but unfortunely I have a solo bobber seat that is bolted on underneath and it's a pain to keep un bolting! Hense a suction cup pillion seat. And luckily enough it will only be for popping to a pub or out for a short run as the other half has her own bike, just not a Harley......it's her *** not mine...lol

Cool

Hi from across the County boundary. Your use of expressions like 'bitch seat' and 'its her ***' are not very becoming old chap!

If you take a close look at your bike you will see that your **** is over the swingarm axle, while hers will be directly over the wheel contact patch, so you will both have very different riding experiences. You should take that into account when providing for your nearest and dearest.

When you have this seat of which you speak, get your best mate to take you round the block, with you sitting on it!

Check eBay, there is a guy who makes pillion pads that match that solo seat you have. It's very comfortable and you can mod the front bracket so all you need is to remove the rear pillion "Phillips head" bolt to remove the seat. From solo to 2up and reverse in under a minute. It will set you back about $250. But it will look better.

Hi
Sorry, but the use of my expressions are actually correct, you will find that a removable pad seat (with or without suction cups) is actually called a bitch seat! Not referring to the female species, just referring to a hot rod bible! And it would be her ***/behind that would be sitting on it.

Yes she is my nearest and dearest, but As she makes me sit on the back of an uncomfortable sports bike, I think I am doing her a favour having a seat on the back of mine at all!.

When I do get this seat pad of which I speak, I will get her to take me round the block so I can try it out!.....yes I will put my *** on it!
