A simple Question
Hello All, I have a simple question for you sportie techs. I am purchasing a new set from a niebor and what I wanna know is can I take the bolt that hold the original seat in the middle by the front of the rear fender and not have any effects on the new seat? The new seat has no hole for that bolt. The sportster is an 05 1200 custom. Any and all info is very helpfull.

If you're talking about the stud that fits into the keyhole slot in the metal plate on the bottom of the seat, then yes, you can remove the stud. Most aftermarket seats don't use the stud anyway.

I guess the obvious question is, what are trying to accomplish? Weight savings? A trivia question?
"you can see a bolt that attaches to the seat located on the rear fender for the seat" Translation please.
Another confusing post with unclear description of the issue.
