Alright, I think I got it.
As long as your new seat fastens at the front and the rear, it will be fine. As I recall, the front mount for the seat slides in, then you bolt down the rear.
I think you are talking about where a stock solo seat would mount at the rear, on the rear fender, then the next bolt back (from that point) is where the rear of a pillion pad mounts. The pillion pad uses the solo seat rear bolt for its front attachment point.
With your full length seat, it should just mount to the rearward bolt, at the point where the stock pillion pad rear mount goes.
Simple.
