Default 2012 nighster, less than 1500 miles, low fuel light does not come on, is it warranty?

almost ran out of gas, the bike was sputtering every couple seconds and when filled it took in 3.0gallons

the low fuel light use to come on 85-90miles, now it doesnt come on at all, i was riding pretty hard this entire fuel tank so at around 90-100 i notice the bike would sputter at full throttle i knew fuel was low but no fuel light came on so decided to ride till it does come on, well got to 110 and said screw it, ITS ABOUT TO DIE and filled up

THIS SHOULD BE WARRANTY RIGHT? will they try and say NO? since i have vance and hines short shots , air filter, and a powervision?

It should be covered under warranty. Unless they can directly relate the problem to the upgrades they have to honor the warranty.

my '12 xl1200c does the same thing. yes its a warranty thing according to my dealer. They diagnosed it as a bad diode during my 1000m service however they had to order the part so I am waiting for the 5000m service. I would rather ride than leave the bike just for the light to get fixed.

Forget about the low fuel light working properly. It either stays on all the time or won't come on at all. They might fix it but it will likely break over and over. Get used to using one of your trip meters to monitor your fuel usage. I use trip A for fuel and trip B for oil changes. By the way, I try to fill my tank when my trip meter gets to 160km (100 miles) which is about when my light came on when it worked properly.

I would rather my light did not come on at all. it is annoying having that yellow light on all the time.

ok so on your 2012 iron, your light comes on anytime? how often?

im thinking maybe my fuel pump might be bad as well to , when the fuel gets low, i know this is normal...but the bike will sputter and hesitate especially in first gear, to me maybe the fuel pump isnt sitting right, when it does this the bike will then take 2.5-2.8 of fuel

My 2012 Iron fuel light came on a 90 miles the first time. Now it hasn't turned on at all. I run the tank 120 before i refuel.

The Harley fuel light is as useful as their Blinker fluid.
