Default Air Filter Blow By......I'm Not Immune!!!

So......I guess this whole "oil on the air filter due to blow by" really does happen!!! Here I am thinking I'm all cool cause I hadn't seen it on my scoot since the heavy breather change, and wouldn't you know, I smell a little oil, check the bottom of my air filter, and sure enough.....OIL!!!!! Going to look into it a little more to make sure that's what's going on but I'm pretty sure that's it. I've had the heavy breather on for about 2 months. Sorry to doubt you forum members!!!!

I don't think it's an oil level issue. Just changed it within lat 200 miles and filled it with just over 2 1/2 Qts. No way that would overfill unless I didn't drain it completely. (I guess that could have happened). I finally had a chance to pull the filter and give it a once over. Looks like the oil was misting out and hitting the back of the air filter mount and then running down to the bottom. From their it gets on the cotton filter and starts working its way up. I didn't think twice about it after I installed the new A/C because most threads I have read mentioned oil dripping on the pipes or on their clothes which I wasn't seeing.

Another thing it could be is that the filter was oiled to heavy.

No. 20-50. Could it be not enough oil on the filter? Red is gone off the top. I think a couple of heavy rain storms while it was sitting at work may have "Rinsed" it off. It was still red underneath (where it wasn't dark from motor oil)

The factory breather lets the heads breath through the air filter. It's inevitable oils gonna get into the air filter unless you switch out the stock back plate, or is yours stock? I installed a 4" air filter and breather bolts.
