Default Looking for a back rest - 2000HD, Sportster

Hello,

New to the forum and rather new to the HD world. Just did my first rally at Cripple Creek -- the Salute to American Veterans, POW/MIA Ride. WOW! What a great time and an amazing event. I digress...

For the miles I need a back rest (I am not old but I am not young either! LOL). My bike is a 2000, Sportster 883XL. It hauls my little self around very well. Nice little bike for my first

Right now I have the stock, two up seat. Any-hoo, I have looked and looked and looked and there does not seem to be a commercially made backrest for it. I find plenty of kits for the passenger! I found a good solo seat on eBay so I have the seat. What I am looking for is simply an add-on back rest. The Sportster is one of the most prolific Harley Davidson's out there since so many get started on it -- it seems CRAZY that this option does not exist!

I have seen the Mustang and Le Pera saddles and they are great, but as this is a starter bike and might not be a "keeper" bike for a really long time, I don't want to sink that kind of money into it until I decide if this is where I stay for a while or if I will move up to another bike. Heck those saddles cost nearly 20% of what I paid for the whole bike -- a very good deal I got!

So if anyone knows of where I can get a simple, ad-on back rest system for an existing solo saddle I would appreciate it. Thanks a bunch!

I remember seeing one just recently, as I was looking for the same option. I tried looking on some previous posts and in the F/S section but cant seem to find it again. I know its gotta be around somewhere. Maybe try a search and see if you can pull it up. Like I said I know theres one out there because I remember seeing it (thought I bookmarked it) Good luck with the search

Thank you Dave, I will do that! If anyone else has an idea I would love to hear it.
