I was planning to do exactly that myself but in the end I fitted a complete Energy One Extra Plate Clutch Kit .

Wow this is awesome! I was going nuts looking at new clutch kits because none of them had the spring plate in the kit, I was so confused! I had no idea that a new plate kit (with "extra plate(s)") meant the grenade spring plate could be deleted. Wish Barnett and the other big makers would make this info more visible on their product listings.

Yes, calling it "extra plate" is a very awkward description, especially if it involves three plates (2 steel, 1 friction). They need some marketing intern to come up with better name, and rebrand the entire package.

Mine is great now that it's stopped squealing . It only did it if I didn't bother to change down enough at junctions . It took me a while to gain the confidence to tank on the throttle when overtaking .
