Screaming Eagle High Flo air filter
I just installed a Screaming Eagle high flo air filter on my 2001 883 Sportster Custom last night, I couldn't wait till this morning to take my bike out....WOW, what a difference. There is a noticable difference on the low end and a 5-10 mph on the cruising speed. I also have Screaming Eagle slip on pipes that also helps. I am doing a 1250 conversion this winter, so next spring it should surprise the hell out me......any feed back of similar set up with air filter and conversion

Did you have to change any carb jets? That and the intake is what really woke mine up. I bought my bike used, but it was left stock by the previous owner. I first put on slip ons, not a huge improvement, but then put on a high flow intake (Vance and Hines) and rejetted the carb, and that really woke it up. I felt everything you said, but also noticed it seems to rev up quicker, and smoother... and seems to warm up faster when it's cold.

Ya, I fab'ed the fender out of 16ga. sheet metal, made a seat pan and wrapped it with black gator leather...lowered the back 3" and the front 2"....I did not rejet the carb's yet, I just installed the air filter....I am taking it to the dealer to rejet and adjust the carb's for max performance....Thanks for the positive response.....last year I had it a bobber (see attached pics)
