How high are the bars? The dealer is usually going to tell you to change all the cables and depending on the height most or all of them will work. 6-8 hours of labor depending on the rate is half the cost right there.

A lot of variables here you need to include like the the price of the parts but 1-1.3k doesn't surprise me.

Spend the $50-60 or whatever it is on a shop manual and do it yourself...and maybe look at some aftermarket parts that don't have the HD stamp of ridiculous markup.

No mattee what size, there are kits with bars and lines for about 400 (maybe even cheaper), that means it costs 900 for labour..... I'd say no to their thievery..

My dealer quoted me like $100 for cables (brakes and clutch) and around an hour for labor. I already have the mini apes which I bought for $60.
I have not done it yet though.
