Question Slipon Mufflers for 2012 HD 1200C

Hi all!
I'm looking to replace the factory mufflers with "slipon mufflers". The person I talked to at HD where I bought my motorcycle recommended Rush 29704 - Baloney Cut chrome slipons. He said that it's the most popular one used on Sportster to improve sound and overall performance without doing any ECM flash. He mentioned that they are ceramic coated internally so they will last longer.
I would like some feedback from you guys for or against this brand he recommended. Any recommendations with where to buy them would be helpful.

Many thanks!

I went full exhaust but a lot of people do go with Rush slips, they are a very popular option. they are a forum sponsor as well and occasionally have some Blemish sale slips available to help save some $$ for you. most cases the blemishes are very minor and not even visible. you could private message one of them here on the forum for more info I am sure.

You wouldnt be going wrong with Rush slips for sure. lots of options out there, Im sure others will agree with me on the Rush slips and that there are plenty of good options. Another option is Cycle Shack. they have some good slips at a wallet friendly price.

Rush or cycle shack are about the most popular brand of slipons if answers to this question on this board are an accurate indication. I wouldn't expect much performance gain without an air cleaner and some kind of tune or xied, but it'll sound better.

Be careful relying on the no ECM disclosure. I bought a 2012 72 that has the exact same engine and I ordered and installed rush baloney cuts in 1 3/4" inch baffles. I was told no ECM work as long as I did not change the air filter. Bottom line is the engine has developed a mid to low rpm stutter. I took it in for the 1000 mile checkup and was told the only to fix it is a $800 supertune. I confirmed with and independent shop that a supertune is probably required. I have told the dealer that I am darn unhappy.

I've got a new pair of Python slip-ons in the for sale section if you're looking for loud and a good deal, but they're black

I've got a chrome set I'll be selling soon, only had em on for about 1,000 miles before I went to the turbo. They're nice slip-ons. They picked up like 6 HP over the vance and hines it had on it when I bought it.

The "no need for a reflash" thing - dont trust it. As far as I'm concerned, ALL of these bikes need ECM tuning out of the factory. Best thing you can get for your bike is a PowerVision or TTS - no need to waste money at the dealer on their "tunes".

I have Python slip-ons minus 1/2 baffle on my bike. They sound great, I get compliments on the sound all the time. They even sounded good with the full baffles in them. I completely removed the baffles for a while and did not experience any performance issues. The sound without the baffles was too hollow for me so I cut them in half and slid them back in.

Try installing the XIeD14. This will save you $700. Add the air filter and you still save $550.
