Bikes have a rear suspension for a reason. You'll understand what that reason is the first time you start pissin' blood, or hit a small bump while leaned over in a turn and the back wheel kicks out on ya.

There are those who think that style outweighs rideability, I'm not one of those guys. I like my back, I like my skin - and don't intend to sacrifice any of either for "style".

Appearently the swing arm has bearings... When installing struts, it may cause damage to those bearings..... So i've been told. I'm not an expert but it makes sense.

Maybe rent a rigid and see how it rides. Does anyone see a reason why you cant use the springer seat and keep the skocks? Slammer shocks?
