Default Death wobble 70+

Hey guys, got the death wobble. '94 sporty 1200. Feels like the back tire is trying to pass the front one on turns. New bearings front and rear, tires have less than 5k and have been recently balanced. Mag wheels. Riding at 60 is nice because of the EXCESSIVE buzzing produced by my sporty at 3k+ rpm but the 42 mile ride to work is just that little bit faster at 70. Any input would be welcome, thank you!

Basically feels like I am riding on a flat rear tire. No stability at all and constant "weaving" for lack of a better term. A wobble that I believe would result in death. Hence "Death Wobble. Front bars shake back and forth fairly violently. I have trouble hanging on and I'm 240 lbs.

Have you checked your tire pressure and checked for a bent rim?
You mentioned new tires. The mounting & balancing of a tire by an installer who failed to get the tire seated on the rim could be the cause.
The bearings might be installed incorrectly.

This all started after the new bearings install, right? I suspect the culprit is right there, in the bearings or the manner in which they were installed.

I get that on my 2012 48. Happens at around the same speed and scares the **** out of me when it happens. Check the head nut to make sure it is tight. Any amount of wiggle up there influences the rear that much more.

Also are you running apes or a wind screen? I've been informed that those have a huge impact on the aero of the bike and affects is tracking.

Problem was prior to new tires/ bearings. Both of which were installed by myself. I am not saying I am perfect but I've been a mechanic for a long time. Everything was properly torqued and wheel was checked before and after tire install. Drag bars, no windscreen. Could alignment cause the issue I am having?

About 1/4 inch difference. Wow, I'll make the adjustment and update. Thanks!
