I just put one on my 48 and did not need new fuel lines. I filled up this morning and put the same amout of gas in as before 2.1 gallons is all I can get in the tank.

I did a two inch tank lift with some brackets I picked up from Lowes. I didn't need new fuel lines and the only thing that was affected was the range I get now. It is a little less because the fuel tank sits at a steeper angle and that affects the reading for the gas light.

Did the 1.5" DK lift on my 48 and I have not noticed any differnance in the capacity BUT I'm sure there has to be a slight loss due to the angle. Ask the DK guys, I think they have some stats for each size lift, if I remember correctly.

I did a 2 1/2 inch lift on my nightster and have no issues. Same amount of range as always. But I go by miles not the light. If your looking for a lift go with dk and if your worried about the fuel lines. Loosen the rear tank bolt. Remove the front and slowly lift it two inches and take a look around.

I also go by mileage.
I usually stop at 150 miles. And top off. I hope I can still do that. As I go on rides I don't wanna be that guy who has to stop all the time before everyone else. Lol

Some models need a long fuel line, others need a longer fuel line and vacuum line. The Sportster does not need either.

With a 2" you will lose about 5-10 miles in range. However, unless you run your tank dry right now, you will never see that in your riding experience. (you will just have a little more fuel still in your tank when you fill up).
