Ya ... When I was shopping for my sportster, I saw a 04 883 for 6000.00 Are you kidding me?! I was curious and offered him 3800 and he took it. I didn't take the bike though. He low balled the miles... 30000 not 3000

It's worth showing up with cash even if they're asking a stupid price, people like to close deals. I got mine off of CL, guy was a asking 5k (which I thought was reasonable), and I paid 4k. It's a 2009 and had 3900 miles on it.

You guys rock. LOL I get picked on like this all the time.

Anyways... It does have a salvage title but that doesn't bother me one bit. We plan to keep it till she dies (the bike or the wife ). I have most items straightened or replaced 9just need a left mirror and stock pipes to get it through inspection. I can borrow the pipes from the local dealer like I did with my Dyna and they have a mirror for the left side at their other shop, $10.00.

Total money spent.... $10.00 for 4 turn signals, $120.00 for all the filters and fluids, $135.00 fuel to go and get it.

I straightened the clutch lever and the headlight mount, installed a set of handlebars I had lying around, epoxied the internals of the speedo and re-rounded the housing, straightened up the front forks (the trees were a little off), straightened out the shift lever and replaced both left turn signals.

This is what it looks like after a good washing and a wax job:

That's awesome. I've thought of it before, but didn't know how well it would work...so that's encouraging.

Do you have a dealer connection, or did they let you buy it as a consumer?

Looks like you got a great deal...just spent some time on the crashed toys site. Wish there were one closer, but I might just have to make a run up to one of these.
