Default Mirror Adjustment

Probably some pretty noob questions here but...

Just bought my Nightster last week. It has stock mirrors. The right mirror is very difficult to adjust and the entire post came loose as a result of mucking with it.

First question... is there a good way to make it easier to adjust without making it flop around? I don't know whether I should shoot some lube at that ball joint or not.

Second question... is there a trick to adjusting the position of the post itself? Is it just a trial and error kinda thing? I could just tighten it up wherever it may be, but then I might not be able to adjust the mirror far enough to the right or something... know what I mean?

Thanks

Just play with it. Is the bike new or used? Its going to be a tight fit so that it doesn't flop around going down the road.

I seriously doubt you want to grease it. Yours is new, mine needs a little TLC. I had to use LockTite (blue) to keep it from flopping around. **** work great. Adjust the mirror and tighten the screws. Should be all you need.
