I gave my opinion to the safety gear as did you, i prefaced with "to each his own" in order to emphasize that you can ride however you like - but then gave my opinion on why i believe gear is necessary. If that was taken as me calling you out as a moron or stupid - then i do apologize as that was not my intent. Again, ride however you like - i believe that in the chance i go down my gear will help keep me in one piece so its worth it. If comfort is more important to you on the ride vs the slide, more power to you. I sincerely hope you are never in the situation in which you go down for whatever reason (most likely due to a cager, lets be honest) .

Dudes, for a country where a lot of people ride round without a helmet, a row about wearing sandals seems a little odd! I went out wearing ordinary shoes and a t-shirt once and ended up sliding down the road. I won't be doing it again any time soon. Wearing sandals on a motorcycle is not big and it is not clever.

Altrec is having a blowout on "hipster leather uppers and lows". I find that the hipster shoes are made well, comfortable, not "boot bulky". Cheers.

I will never buy riding boots with a zipper. The zipper wears out way too fast and unfortunately a lot of HD boots have zippers.
