Default 2003 1200 Crank no Start

Hi there, trying to help my Dad diag his sporty here are the symptoms:

Intermittent dying and no start. Today it finally didn't start while I was around it and I checked a couple things I could think of. Coil primary and secondary resistance was in spec, attempted to start with test light on coil terminals and test light slightly dimmed and I was thinking it should flash..

Leaning toward the ignition module as from what I've read it's a very common problem for the nose cone mounted units. I've found a nice looking ultima unit from Jireh for about 105.

Is there anything else I should check before we order a module? We've wiggle tested almost everything we could get our hands on with no luck.

Thanks

Ckeck the 2 wires on the coil. They just push on the threaded post.Might be loose. Give them a little squeeze to tighten them up. I've used the ultima ign. They work just fine for the money.

Just a little follow up, ordered the ultima, shipping was fast, install was cake. Bike fired right up afterwards.
