I have a nice scar on my shin from my side plate mount like that. Got it while dismounting my bike it hurt so bad.

this is what i use. pricey, but great quality metal and it looks great.

id also try doing the belt cover trick that a few people have been doing. a friend of mine has done that one and it looks pretty clean... and of course, its free.99

Try Figure Engineering. I'm about to install their kit. They even made me a larger holder and no extra cost!

Doesn't seem to be any more expensive than the figure engineering on that is so very nice.

I made the side plate mount awhile ago, I put a high out put LED spot light in the rear directional to light it.

They have some cool stuff there.

Here's a question though...
Once I remove the "standard" plate mount from the fender...
Any creative ideas on how to hide/fill the holes that will be left?
