Anyone switch out Iron Headlight for a 48 or 72 version?
Looking to see it anyone ditched the eyebrow and stock Iron headlight and installed one from a 48 or 72.
I think this look would improve the look of the iron and hope to do this to the wifes bike.
It seems as eazy as buying the stock mount for the bottom tree, drilling a hole and flipping your light upside down (Yes, only the housing!)
The other reason for this mod is to be able to use the 48 speedometer housing and get the speedometer to sit lower than the Iron. This I think would complete the look and clean up the bike some.
If anyone has done this mod or something real simular please post.
Thanks,
Mike

If my memory serves me correctly, what you're looking to do isn't as easy as you're making it out. The 48 has a completely different speedo setup than the iron/nightster. The mount is part of the upper tree. Here's a link to this discussion in another thread. Hope this helps and good luck.

I have mounted the 48 speedo housing on my nightster. I was also thinking about the head lamp also. I took the eye brow mounted it to underside of the top triple tree. Worked ot great lowered the headlamp. Only thing is you will need to file some of the risers to fit spedo housing. I really like the looks. Stock parts cost me around $115.00.
