Default Warm up stumble

Today I did something a little different when starting my bike in the morning.
What I did was start the bike and let set and idle and warm up as I put on my gear.
What happen kind of surprised me as the engine 3 times stumbled and almost stalled during the two to three minute period it took me to get ready.
This is the first time I have noticed this as I usually get geared up first then start the bike and let in run a few seconds before starting off.
I did a search and found others having similar issues, but has anybody identified the particular reason why this happens to EFI bikes?

Just start it, wait a couple seconds for the oil to swagger around the motor, and give it a little 500rpm twist and it'll warm up a lot smoother. It's a harley not a honda show it a little love

Every time I start it up cold and let it sit it will stumble and occasionally stall. After a few minutes though, it runs fine. Yes, it is normal.

Normal.
My 07 1200N does this stumble once around the 3 minute mark on a cold start.
No drivability issue if I start riding before that 3 minute time.
I recall other threads about this question, but do not recall the reason for the stumble.

Have you tried playing with the choke as it starts to stumble. I find that on my '01, I have to adjust the choke down as the bike warms up.
