YAh i have an old large gel seat pad i used on my last bike that had a full sized saddle seat on it. Its cut and sewn to fit the sporty seat now, but dont use it because its too high then and feels aweful. Going to cut out a 3/8 to 1/2 shaped piece from the stock foam and insert the gel pad then recover without the memory foam. The foam i used is the white foam and isnt nearly as dense as the blue foam used for geling seats.

This is my first post on here hi everybody but this question is close to home for me so maybe I can offer something.

I am on my second seat on my 883 well 3rd counting the stock seat my new seat is like the Sundowner but its the pillow top version #52112-04 just a bit narrower. So to answer your question yes I think the Sundowner would be real good!.

I like it a lot my wife is very happy with her part of it as well. We havent gone out of town yet but I am positive we will enjoy the ride compared to the other seats. my .002 ymmv as always

I've had the Mustang and the Sundowner. I kept the Sundowner and sold the Mustang on E Bay.

I just put the Mustang Wide Vintage Touring seat on my bike last week and love it. Rather than feeling like I'm straddling the seat, the Mustang seat provides great hip support. The only negative is it will raise you up a couple of inches. Personally, I'll take the slight height increase for the comfort.

I had an HD Sundowner on my 04 XL and put almost 40,000 miles on it before I sold the bike. No complaints about that seat. It was perfectly comfortable on a 5,000 mile trip to Sturgis and back. Can't go wrong with the Sundowner for the price.
